Immigrant Employment Assistance Program PDF Print E-mail

Pre-Employment Development Program assisting immigrants to prepare and enter the labour market. The participants will obtain the following skills and abilities:

  • Individualised short-term and long-term employment goals and action plan
  • Skills in developing job search techniques including resume & cover letter writing, job interviews preparation, job search process
  • Knowledge of resources available for successful job search and labour market understanding
    Basic knowledge of computer use for job search purposes
  • Access to the Self-Directed Resource Centre with access to computers, internet, fax, photocopier, printer and self-study modules for MS Word, Excel and Power Point

Who can apply:
Refugee claimants and convention refugees with or without work permit, Permanent residents or First generation Canadians and Recipients of social assistance

Duration:
15 hours within 3 weeks in a small group setting, additional individual sessions are offered for participants
