Carl Cadogan is the Executive Director of Polycultural Immigrant & Community Services and was appointed to the position in June 2008. A key part of his role is to lead and streamline the services and business of PICS as the organization prepares for the challenges of the next five to ten years. Before joining PICS, Carl was most recently the Program Director for the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) an International NGO where he was responsible for supporting CAPAM's vast international membership association of senior public officials, both appointed and elected. Carl gained a wealth of experience working in diverse and multicultural environments, while traveling to many of the 53 Commonwealth countries. Carl was also the Executive Director of Nokee Kwe Occupational Skill Development Inc which served the Aboriginal Community of South West Ontario in assisting the on and off-Reserve community in securing employment and training; prior to that Carl was the Vice President of the YMCA of Greater Toronto for fifteen years where he worked in all aspects of YMCA programming. Carl lives in London, Ontario and commutes weekly to Toronto; Carl is involved as a volunteer in many organizations in both London and Toronto; he has served on the Board of Museum London, Chaired an Allocations Committee for the United Way of Greater Toronto and Chaired the City of London Diversity and Race Relations Advisory Committee. He is currently involved in a number of organizations serving the immigrant community in both Toronto and Peel among other activities in the NGO sector. Elena had been involved in Newcomer Support Program at Polycultural Immigrant and Community Services in a volunteer capacity before she joined PICS as a staff in November 2006. Elena is currently the Manager of Human Resources and is completing her certificate in Human Resources Management; Elena has also participated in developing the advertising materials and creating the organization's past web-site.

Throughout her career Joanne has been involved in client, project and people management and has championed programs designed to improve service delivery models and increase overall business efficiencies. She is looking forward to applying this knowledge and experience to the programs and services PICS offers in this diverse and thriving community. Joanne graduated from the University of Guelph and subsequently completed courses through the University of Toronto - Continuing Education. She currently resides in Ancaster with her husband and two teenage children.

After joining PICS in 1998 Nadia Sokhan was involved in delivery of ISAP, NSP, PAR, Family Support Program, Multicultural Women Wellness Program, PED program and later in coordination and management for the most of the PICS programs. Nadia Sokhan was involved in many projects with community partners including Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, COSTI Immigrant Services, Findhelp Information Services, Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants as a member of advisory groups, and as a co-facilitator of Information and Referral training for settlement staff in Ontario.

Slavek Suszek was appointed to the position of Director of Finance and Administration of Polycultural Immigrant and Community Services in November 2008. A key role of this position is managing financial, human resources and administrative functions of the organization. Slavek joined PICS in November 1991 to work as part-time accountant for small non-profit agency - Polish Immigrant Aid Services, which later after amalgamation with other organizations serving newcomers became Polycultural Immigrant and Community Services. Through the years working with PICS, Slavek was responsible for all financial matters and helped to build strong relationship among Board of Directors, staff and founders. Before joining PICS, Slavek worked as a consultant for John Deke and Associates specializing in small business start-ups, closely-held corporations, non-profit audits and individual and trust tax consulting. Slavek volunteered for Canadian Polish Congress as a community representative to Immigration Canada. Currently, he is actively involved with Catholic School Advisory Council helping in fundraising and organizing school events. Slavek attended Agricultural University in Lublin, Poland and continued his study at Humber College in Toronto where he earned diploma in accounting. Later, he continued his education through number of accounting, IT and management courses at University of Toronto and Certified General Accountants of Ontario. |




Elena graduated from the Moscow Linguistic University in Russia. She came to Canada in 2005. She now lives in Toronto.
Joanne recently joined PICS having spent many years with a private disability management firm. An experienced program manager, Joanne has had the opportunity to work with a wide client base including, the WSIB, private insurance companies, the legal community, and post secondary institutions.
Nadia Sokhan graduated from the State University of Saint-Petersburg, and her diploma was evaluated by WES as being equivalent to Masters Degree in Psychology. Before immigrating to Canada, she had been doing her postgraduate studies in business psychology, and after that worked as a consultant and coach for a middle-sized management of HR departments of private corporations.
