Working in our community for over 40 years, Polycultural is aware of the struggles many people face when it comes to affordable housing. Poverty in Peel is often unseen, and there are many factors contributing to it. Often we do not know that our friends may be struggling.
To highlight the struggle of finding affordable housing, we have elected to do our Longest Night in the parking lot of the building that we provide our Resettlement Assistance Program in, which is also a symbol of our support to refugees. Members from the Polycultural team, including our executive director will be sleeping in their cars on February 9th as part of this initiative.
Poverty affects us all as a community, and by participating in the Longest Night, we strive to bring awareness to the people in our community living in crisis and the need for drastically shorter wait times for people to move into affordable housing.
Please support our team to help lift people from poverty and build their independence. Please know that each dollar counts!
