Transition to Employment
Transition to Employment
Transition to Employment programs have been developed to support individuals, including internationally-trained professionals and trades people in finding their pathways to employment in Canada. During workshops, individual coaching sessions, mentor ships and work placements participants develop their own action plans, build effective self-presentation skills, job search and networking skills.
Internships
Job ready newcomers with limited or no exposure to the Ontario Labour Market are benefiting from paid or unpaid work placements in the field that commensurate with their professional background and experience. Placement opportunities are identified based on developed employment goals and are part of the action plan in the process of finding employment. Newcomers are placed in part time or full time opportunities for a period of 6-12 weeks. Employment mentor ship is offered to those unable to participate in the placement due to personal circumstances, involvement in education or training or survival jobs.
