Youth Job Connection
Youth Job Connection
The Youth Job Connection program offers a range of services and opportunities for young people to learn about jobs and gain work experience. The program addresses the gap in youth employment programming for young people who are neither in education, employment or training. These youth face some of the greatest employment needs and experience significant employment barriers. These barriers include some combination of challenging life circumstances, limited work experience, low levels of education or literacy, a lack of motivation, and discrimination. The goal is to secure long-term employment and meaningful careers.
- Pre-employment services: 60-90 hours of training, a stipend is paid for hours of training.
- Job matching, placement, and incentives for employers.
- Support in transition to employment or additional training/education, during and after the program.
Eligibility criteria: Open to all youth ages 15-29, who are residents of Ontario, eligible to work in Canada, who are currently unemployed and not participating in full-time training or education.
