This workshop defines ageism, its types, and how ageist attitudes and policies can affect the care that seniors receive. Myths and facts about aging are discussed, and an interactive discussion about video examples is included. The workshop also goes further into detail about financial abuse of elders, including warning signs and types of financial abuse. It includes real-life scenarios about financial abuse for interactive discussions in order to highlight the importance of seniors’ overall well-being, encourage participants to promote care, respect, and support for older adults.
