We are excited to participate in the Government of Canada, Status of Women, Gender Equality Week as we are committed to advancing all forms of equality (including gender equality) in our offices and in the communities we serve.
Our staff is reflective of the communities we serve in all their diversities. Our staff are of different genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientation, linguistic and religions backgrounds and as such we are able to better connect, serve and relate to the communities we work in.
An indicator of our success is our continuous work in ensuring our organization priorities gender equality, because gender equality benefits everyone. We understand that gender equality is inclusive of all genders, sexual orientations, gender identities and self-expression. Our 5 locations and refugee reception centre is a reflection of our efforts. Our staff strive to create a safe atmosphere for everyone that walks in our doors so they feel comfortable when they are being served.
Gender equality is a priority for us and we work daily to ensure that all staff and clients are represented and heard. Our aim is to continue to work on all forms of equality specifically gender, until it is an implemented practice across all our offices, communities and the country. This year our staff will be participating in a series of activities that will drive the discussion on what we want gender equality to look like at Polycultural moving forward.
Change is slow but we will continue working to ensure our spaces are inclusive, equal and representative of all genders. We want to see a community where #EveryoneBenefits including women, men and people of all gender identities and gender expressions.
Sincerely
Marwan Ismail
